Competitive Chess
Rating-focused coaching for students preparing to compete — with regular academy tournaments as a stepping stone to bigger events.
Playing well in casual games and playing well under tournament conditions are different skills. Our tournament coaching track is built for students who already know the fundamentals and want to specifically improve their competitive results — through rating-focused practice, positional training, and honest review of their own games.
What's Covered
Targeted practice on the specific gaps that show up in a student's rated or academy games, not generic drilling.
The strategic understanding and endgame technique that separates tactically-sharp beginners from consistently strong competitors.
Coaches go through a student's own played games to find recurring mistakes under real tournament pressure.
Getting Competitive Experience
We run regular academy-level tournaments specifically so students get real competitive experience — playing an unfamiliar opponent, managing a clock, handling a loss — in a familiar, encouraging setting before they enter open or FIDE-rated events. For a parent's-eye view of why this staged approach matters, read how tournaments build your child's confidence.
This track builds directly on our core chess classes — most students move into tournament coaching once they've completed our beginner and intermediate material. If your child is newer to chess, start with beginner classes or, for younger children, kids' chess classes first.
