Both formats run on the same curriculum, taught by the same coaching team. Offline classes at our Coimbatore centres suit families who want face-to-face coaching and a fixed weekly rhythm. Online classes suit families outside Coimbatore, busy weekday evenings, or students who are simply comfortable learning on a screen with a live coach. How We Coach
Classes are built around demonstration, guided practice and review — a coach explains a concept on the board, students apply it in paired games or puzzles, then the coach reviews what actually happened in those games. This is deliberately not "watch and repeat"; students play, then learn from their own mistakes with a coach present.
Coaches keep informal notes on each student's recurring weaknesses (say, missing forks, or castling too late) and adjust homework accordingly. Between classes, students get specific puzzle sets or positions to practice — not generic worksheets — and coaches check on that homework at the start of the next session. Parents can ask their coach directly for an update on where their child stands at any point.
Getting Started
It's possible to learn chess from videos or apps alone, and some children do. What structured coaching adds is accountability and correction — a coach who notices a bad habit before it becomes permanent, sets a weekly rhythm so practice actually happens, and gives a child real opponents and real tournaments to grow against. For most families, that combination is what turns "knows how the pieces move" into "plays chess well."
